Freelancers Hub is closing its physical space

The past few months have been an incredibly difficult time for everyone, including the Freelancers Union and its partners. The global crisis has forced us all to make some tough decisions. Today, the decision was made to permanently close the Made in NY Media Center by IFP, home to Freelancers Hub.

We’re proud of all the work Freelancers Hub has done to support emerging and early-career freelancers, our BIPOC community, and all freelancers in NYC over the last two years. The Hub was a historic first-of-its-kind public/private partnership that provided free education, resources, and coworking space to Freelancers Union members, and we hope it will serve as a model for cities across the country.

When the pandemic began, Freelancers Hub pivoted to provide the same community support and education in the virtual space, with regular workshop series, Q&A events, and healing spaces taking place on Zoom and Instagram Live. Freelancers are dealing with more uncertainty than ever right now, and Freelancers Hub remains an amazing resource for all.
